GUARDIAN PROGRAM

GUARDIAN HOME PROGRAM

We believe that our breeding dogs should be with their forever homes when they are 8 weeks old, just like all the puppies. At Breezy Acres, we do not want our dogs to stay at our home and be sold once they are no longer able to produce puppies for us. The best solution is to find Guardian families to be the fur-ever families for the pups! These families are incredibly important to our program, as they raise our breeding quality puppies in their home. We will health test the puppy at 1 year old, and if they pass all of the tests, they will become a part of our breeding program. We will pay for the genetic health testing, and all related breeding expenses. Guardian families will need to pay for all regular health maintenance, food, grooming, and other regular expenses. The typical fee of purchasing a puppy is waived, so that the family can focus on raising the puppy and ensuring they are in a happy, healthy, loving environment. Our girls are expected to have around 3 litters, and will need to come to Breezy Acres for specified time periods for whelping and breeding. They will be with their guardian homes for the vast majority of time. Breezy Acres Labradoodles will hold ownership and breeding rights of the Labradoodle, until they are retired, in which ownership will be transferred to the Guardian family.

BEING A GUARDIAN HOME

Being a guardian home requires consideration and preparation. Families and their pets will be separated several times while the female is needed for breeding and whelping. Families will also need to learn the signs of a female going into heat, and they will need to communicate with us so that successful breeding can happen. Guardian homes are so important to the overall health and happiness of the dog. The dog will not need to be re-homed, and they will live in a stable environment with a loving family.
